So hang about, where do I actually stand politically?

By next June, when the next general election is to be held (or before then), I will have not reached my 18th birthday, and as a result will not be able to vote… I’ll be 17 years and 11 months. Great. Thankfully, I’ll not have to worry about who I would vote for next year… but it makes me wonder who I would vote for if coincidentally, my parents timed their night in just a month or two earlier.

Well, I’m gunna be honest – my father is, and always has been right wing. My mother, who used to always be a ‘not-really-giving-a-crap’ has turned Tory too… so you might think I’m just like that too… well, not exactly.

I have my ups and downs of all parties. And being me, I’m all over the place in my views.

I have certain right-wing tendencies that I support – such as being a eurosceptic, my views on immigration policies and being a British democratic society (and no, please do not take that as me being a racist bastard). On the other hand, I’m very left-wing with my support on socialistic or public systems such as the BBC and the NHS.

So therefore, you could say I’m centred? Well… yeah I guess. So for the people like me, theres another major political party to help us out… called the Lib Dems. But… oh dear… I’m not a fan either. Turns out they are pro Europe and EU. I say neigh neigh as this is completely against my morals. They even want the Euro and not the Pound! Get lost!

So where would I vote? Well, it’s gunna have to be the Tories – since I know that (most) public organisations like the NHS and the Beeb are safe so long as there’s British people. And before you ask why I haven’t mentioned that one-eyed Scotsman and the red Labour party yet… well, I simply cannot stand any longer under their government, judging by the trail of rubbish they left behind.

But please, make this be clear; the Tories win my support, not out of choice, but by process of elimination… and don’t be surprised if this is subject to change.

What a shame that parties are elected from being the ‘least-shit’ nowadays.
“Yeah – I’m a lying, cheating, expense hogging excuse for a human being, but geesh… you should see the other guy! Can I count on your vote?”
What a world to live in, where the people we actually bother to vote for to run the country have such abysmal values/morals.
